In this short introduction we will cover the Agenda of this course and which Pre-Requisites you should know and prepare on your Environment to follow this Course.

Introduction to Vagrant

What is Vagrant and why should you use it compared to Terraform? We cover some of the Use-Cases and target audience and how does it fit into a DevOps workflow.

Installation and Getting Started

Now that you got an idea what Vagrant is and how to use it, we will have a look how to install it and getting started with the Vagrant CLI.

Deploy our first Virtual Machine

We have prepared our environment, now we will have a look how to find the right Box Image and deploy our first Virtual Machine.

Installation and Getting Started

We start the Deployment of our Virtual Machine and attach it to a Network. You will learn how to connect your Virtual Machine to the right Network Switch and Authenticate to the Virtual Machine via SSH.

Management and Configuration

After our Machine was deployed you will learn how to manage the Machine and configure general settings.

Provider Specific Configuration

Not all configuration settings are defined in the general settings. Learn how to add Provider Specific Configuration settings to our Virtual Machine.

Provision the Virtual Machine

We will take a closer look how to provision the Virtual Machine with Shellscripts and which different Provisioning Options there are in Vagrant.
