Now you're across the "what" of Template Specs, let's start diving in to the "how", and a good starting point is using the Azure Portal.
I like to use the Azure Portal to get a good visual of how a service or system works, but some true power can be achieved by using an automation language like PowerShell. Microsoft have commands to work with template specs, and that's what we'll dive in to in this clip.
Linked templates are popular when designing and creating ARM templates to provide a modular method for resource deployment, but historically it has come with challenges. In this clip, we'll understand how using linked templates in template specs makes this much easier.
You've learned the benefits that template specs provide, and you now know template specs contain their own versioning system, but you can still use a git repository to store and version your ARM templates, and even use a pipeline to automatically deploy ARM templates to template specs.
